welcome!

Why in the world would we blog? Well, first, neither one of us is currently working or attending school, so we have to have something to kill the time, right? A life of leisure is difficult. Seriously though, the question of why to blog was one we both had to answer. My wife and I both found the idea of a blog very attractive, but was what we had to say worth putting on the internet? Probably not. But we both received great enjoyment from reading the blogs of our friends and people we don’t know at all (see: www.wdotwdotw.wordpress.com www.gradyandjulia.com http://ourdozenbeautifulfeet.blogspot.com/ and www.flythroughourwindow.com). We thought that since some people enjoy spending time in conversation with us, they may enjoy reading what we are doing in our lives. This is especially poignant as we consider that next year we will be leaving a large amount of dear friends, possibly a few hours drive away, possibly an intercontinental flight away. So we came to the conclusion to start a blog
.
The next difficult question is, “What should we blog?” My wife and I both have very different ideas on this subject (as you may be able to see from the blogs we enjoy), so our blog will be very diverse in nature. My wife is a big do-it-yourself person, from decorating to making up recipes, she loves to try and figure out new things. Many of her posts will be new recipes, decorating, and stories from her life. I am a big reader, and like to be challenged to think in new and different ways. I am a much better reader than I am writer, so my posts will most likely be few and far between, and will deal with issues I am thinking through and stories from my life. The posts together will be exciting, breaking news on decisions we make (jobs, medical school, travel, etc.) and will be intended to keep our close friends in contact with us to pray for us.

So our blog is to be a humble attempt to open up our lives and home to you, we don’t think anything we say will be necessarily ground-breaking or life-changing, but we do want to share it with you, our closest friends. We hope you enjoy the view from our front porch looking in.

  1. I read this whole thing. You should be proud. I do feel a little left out on the porch thought; but I guess when y'all invite me over for dinner it make up for it. I'm ready for the next post!
    Sincerely, your number one stalker

  2. Hey Nate and Kate! I saw some traffic from your blog on mine and came over to "meet" you guys! Do we have some mutual friends, or did you just stumble on my blog? Always curious to know how people find it. : ) It's like yours... nothing ground breaking, but just meant to keep our families up on our lives. Love to hear from you guys! : )
